We are PRETTY excited about its release on 2nd March in this household – you can watch the trailer here and get excited too.

All this whiskery persuasion has made me think about the number of moustachioed (yep…real word) things I’ve seen and admired recently.

We can’t just blame the Lorax and his beautifully shaped whiskers for this fascination…the hipsters have long sported the look…even when it’s not Movember…but we’re seeing them growing on more than just creative faces…in more and more interesting places!

I LOVE this kids scatter cushion by Blabla from Land of Nod and I am definitely getting one…plus its called “Hold me Tight” – aww…bless his cuddly little ‘tache.

This fun bottle stopper from Jonathan Adler is a quirky accessory and I am liking the subtle Salvador Dali-esque teapot, creamer and sugar bowl from Jonathan Adler’s new muse collection. The items have a double treat of the moustache on one side and puckered lips on the other!

These great Je m’appelle moustache lightbulb lights by designer Katrin Greiling via The UberReview at first glance look like birds but look closer and your lightbulbs have a personality!

On the more frivolous side I must admit to having given these cookie cutters and these straws for gifts at Christmas and we seem to have an unnerving number these furry stick-on blighters attached to various surfaces in the house…including my son at times…

Amongst my favourite interiors products for those whiskery fixated this Moustache Chest of Drawers was spotted at the Stockholm Furniture Fair earlier this month by Modenus.

I have developed a new fascination with finding the best built in bunk beds, cubbies, nooks and lovely creative places for kids (and possibly adults) to sleep.  They’re such a great way to create extra space in a room, the height creates climbing opportunities for the kids and adds to the novelty of a secret hideaway.

I hope to be able to design and build something similar for a client or failing that for my son…until then I will admire others!

The more I look the more amazing innovative examples I find…here are some of my particular favourites.

Whilst these look closer to the traditional freestanding bunks we all know and many had when they were kids I like the fact they are incorporated into storage at either end and have a trundle tucked away underneath ~ image via Marie Claire Maison

Since moving to New York in May 2011 I see so many amazing sights each day and I am lucky enough to experience so many things; I thought things would stop appearing or seeming so exciting…but that hasn’t happened yet…so what better way to organise my thoughts and share experiences and musings whilst living in this great city!

Despite the fact that my husband quotes me as saying “Is nothing sacred?!” when he told me last year that Tim Burton was making Alice in Wonderland I couldn’t avoid the hype  - or the groovy NHS styled 3D specs – 50p…and they’re mine to keep – so I went to see it.

Whilst it looked amazing the story wasn’t as great as I remember the books being but I reckon its because they are so fantastical that it would be tough for any film maker to do it justice. I enjoyed it all the same and it’s prompted me to scurry down the rabbit hole after some surreal wonderland interior accessories.

Its hard to appreciate the scale of it so I’ll post more images once I’ve bought mine! It’s 36cm high, 39cm wide and 10cm deep and has lovely nickel detailing like a pocket-sized pocket watch.

I saw it on the wall of a local interiors shop and stupidly didn’t buy it and of course it was sold once I’d gone back but I have managed to track it down on ebay…will stop you being late…for a very important date…

SCP - Green Sprig Jug

So I hope I’m not being too premature but a few rays over a few days (well…an afternoon anyway…) and the sunshine has made me feel like Spring might be on its way…fingers crossed…

There are plenty of lovely springy colours around which I’ve been eying up and the fresh greens are a particular favourite of mine.

I especially like this fresh green Donna Wilson Sprig Jug at SCP…it reminds me of the snowdrops I saw popping up at my grandparents house at the weekend…so hopefully there will be more sunshine to inspire me!

In the scrapbook I am planning on posting images, inspiration and text about things that I have seen and enjoyed…some work, some play…
